A Guide to Bidding on Drafting Marketplace

As a drafter, it’s important that you’re able to find projects that you want to work on with glazing contractors. In fact, finding projects is easy to do on Drafting Marketplace. But once you find a job you’re interested in, how exactly does one go about bidding on the selected project? That’s a good question - and we’re about to discuss that right here, right now.

After reading our blog post about how to search for projects on Drafting Marketplace (which you can read by clicking here), it’s time to start bidding.

Bidding on a Project

By this point, we’ll assume you’ve found a project that you’ve located by using the steps in our previously mentioned blog post. On the right hand side of the project description page, users have the ability to bid on a project.

To submit a bid on the selected project, simply fill out this form with your bid estimate and projected date of completion. Then, either click the "Place a Bid" button to submit your bid, or you can message the glazing contractor by clicking the "Send Message" button to ask a question about the project.

Once you’ve placed a bid on a project, it will be submitted to the glazing contractor in charge of that project. The glazing contractor will then either accept or reject your bid. Drafters have the ability to view their pending bids by navigating back to their main dashboard and clicking on the "Bids" tab.

Under the Bids tab, drafters will see the projects they’ve placed bids on, as well as the due date of the project, the status of the bid, the ability to send a message to the glazing contractor, and the option to cancel the bid.

If the glazing contractor accepts your bid, the project will move from the "Bids" tab to the "Open Projects" tab. From here, drafters have the ability to begin working on the project by clicking the "Start Working" button.

Receiving a Bid Request

One of the cool features of Drafting Marketplace is the fact that glazing contractors have the ability to submit bid requests to drafters that they’re interested in working with on their project. This could be because a drafter has good ratings, or maybe because the glazing contractor has worked with the drafter in the past and enjoyed their experience.

Drafters may find bid requests from glazing contractors by navigating to their main dashboard and clicking on the "Bid Requests" tab. Once this tab is selected, all projects that a glazing contractor has requested a bid from you for will show up in a list.

From here, drafters have the option to click on the project name to view the "Project Description" page or click the "Bid Now" button to submit a bid on the project.

When the "Bid Now" button is clicked, it will take users to the bid form on the "Project Detail" page for the selected project. This form looks and operates the same as the bid form we mentioned previously in this post.
