Requesting and Accepting Bids as a Glazing Contractor

Drafting Marketplace is the place where drafters and glazing contractors get work done together. And, as a glazing contractor, you should have a say in who you get to work on your project. That’s exactly the point of our software - it gives you more control of options of the drafting companies that you get to work on your project.

But did you know that you can request bids from specific drafters? It’s true - and here’s how to do it.

Requesting Bids from Drafters

To request a bid from a drafter, you must first add them to your list of favorites. To do this, follow these instructions for finding a drafter and adding them to your favorites.

Once you’ve added a drafter to your list of favorites, then you can begin the process of requesting a bid from them. You can do this by going to the project details page of the specific project you’d like to request a bid for. To do this, head to your main dashboard and click the Receiving Bids tab. 

Here, scroll to the project you want to request a bid from a drafter for and click on the name of the project. This will bring you to your Project Details page.

On the top right hand side of the screen, you’ll see a link that says Edit. Click this to edit the project.

Clicking the Edit link will take you to the Edit Project Details page. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the form to the Invited Drafters section.

Click the Send to Favorites? button. This will show all of your favorite drafters. Simply click the Click to Select button on the listing for the drafter you’d like to request a bid from. Then, click the Save Changes button at the very bottom of the page. 

Clicking the Save Changes button will bring you back to the Project Details page and will send the bid request to the drafter.

Accepting Bids

Whether a drafter has sent you a bid from a bid request or by finding your project through the Drafting Marketplace search, glazing contractors may manage bidders by  navigating the Bid Requests tab and scrolling to the project for which they’d like to manage bidders.

Once you find the project you’d like to view, click the Manage Bidders button, which will take you to the bottom of the Project Details page for the project at hand. Here, you’ll see a section called Drafters Bidding, where all of the drafters bidding on the project will show up in a list.

To choose the best bid, simply click the Accept Bid button next to the drafter of your choosing. To move forward with accepting the bid, click OK. To cancel and accept another bid, click Cancel. If you choose to move forward with accepting the bid and click OK, you’ll receive a success message that states the project has been assigned to the bidder.

And it’s that easy! Sending bid requests and accepting bids through Drafting Marketplace is convenient to make life for glazing contractors easier.
